Prof. Dr. Ludovic Chamoin

Ludovic’s research deals with the development of advanced numerical methods for effective simulations in structural mechanics. A major topic of interest is the certification of numerical simulations (assessment of accuracy, model adaptivity, updating and validation), for a wide range of linear and nonlinear models and for various methods including model reduction or multiscale analysis. Another topic of interest is real-time data assimilation and robust online control for complex structures, in the context of dynamic data-driven application systems (DDDAS). For this latter topic, and based on the original approach that he is investigating (mixing data-based and model-based strategies with strong physical insight), Ludovic was nominated Junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) in 2019 and was recently awarded an ERC-consolidator grant from the European Research Council that will start in June 2021.
